Responsibilities

Overview:

The Associate Vice President (AVP) of Clinical Transformation Patient Engagement will be a physician executive responsible for the development and implementation of clinical programs and protocols for key clinical transformation initiatives focused on improving patient engagement including nudge campaigns, nudge programs, and remote patient monitoring (RPM) programs. This role focuses on ensuring these portfolios drive measurable impact on patient outcomes, experience, and health system impact. The AVP will lead cross-functional teams, manage program strategy and execution, oversee vendor relationships and budgets, and drive alignment across clinical, technical, and administrative stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic & Clinical Leadership

    • Set the clinical and strategic vision for the nudge and RPM portfolios in alignment with system-wide priorities.
    • Translate clinical goals into scalable programs supported by data, technology, and operations.
    • Serve as a clinical thought leader and champion of innovation within the organization and externally.

    Operational Oversight

    • Oversee day-to-day operations of nudge and RPM programs, including staffing, implementation, scaling, and continuous improvement.
    • Manage operating budgets and financial performance; oversee contracting, procurement, and vendor partnerships.
    • Lead program governance, risk management, and compliance with clinical standards and regulatory requirements.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Work across matrixed teams including data analytics, data science, human-centered design, product management, architecture, and engineering to execute initiatives.
    • Coordinate across service lines, IT, population health, and frontline clinical teams to ensure successful integration of programs into care delivery workflows.

    Performance & Impact

    • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate program effectiveness and ROI.
    • Develop dashboards, reports, and narratives for internal stakeholders and executive leadership.
    • Conduct regular reviews of program impact and identify opportunities for innovation or course correction.

    Communication & Change Management

    • Lead clinical and executive-level communications to ensure alignment and engagement.
    • Represent the programs in leadership forums, steering committees, and partner meetings.
    • Promote adoption and scale through effective storytelling, training, and change management efforts.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Physician MD/DO obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensure required, relevant to state in which work is performed.

Education:

  • Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 4 of those years being in leadership/management.

Additional Preferences

  • Experience and/or training in health care administration; advanced degree/certification in business, medical management, or similar field is preferred.
  • A minimum of seven years of clinical practice with demonstrated achievement; a minimum of five years in complex leadership roles within health systems.
  • Experience in designing and implementing clinical programs across a range of medical specialities, managing clinical operations, and improving clinical quality and safety.
  • Experience in organizational change management with a strong record of successful development and implementation of large-scale efforts to transform strategy, processes, and culture.
