Responsibilities
Cloud Operations Engineer (GCP, Azure, & OCI)
As a Cloud Operations Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the stability, security, performance, and scalability of our cloud infrastructure across Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). You will play a key role in supporting and evolving our multi-cloud landscape by delivering Infrastructure as Code (IaC), implementing observability solutions, driving automation, and improving the operational maturity of our platforms.
You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy, manage, and enhance infrastructure supporting critical business applications, and help enforce reliability and efficiency across cloud services.
What You'll Do
- Deploy and manage infrastructure services in GCP, Azure, and OCI using Terraform and other Infrastructure as Code tools.
- Support and optimize daily operations, including provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management of cloud services.
- Creating and maintaining documentation for cloud infrastructure, operational procedures, and best practices.
- Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data and application availability during unforeseen events.
- Implement and manage observability tools across cloud platforms.
- Monitoring cloud infrastructure and application health, identifying performance bottlenecks, and optimizing resource utilization.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows using tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, and JFrog Artifactory.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across cloud infrastructure, including compute, storage, IAM, and performance.
- Drive governance standards (tagging, access control, naming conventions) and cost optimization strategies.
- Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams to support application delivery on cloud-native platforms.
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide timely response to incidents impacting cloud operations.
- Use Jira and ServiceNow to manage change, incident, and service request workflows.
You'll Have
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of experience in infrastructure or cloud engineering roles preferred.
- 5 years of experience in delivering GCP environments preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in delivering Azure environments preferred.
- Hands-on experience managing resources in GCP, Azure, and ideally OCI.
- Experience delivering Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD practices, version control, and automation tooling.
- Experience with monitoring, alerting, and logging platforms such as GCP Operations Suite, Azure Monitor, or OCI Monitoring.
- Experience supporting operational SLIs/SLOs, health checks, and incident response frameworks.
- Familiarity with tools like Jira and ServiceNow.
- Ability to thrive in an autonomous, self-directed environment with changing priorities.
Nice to Have
- Scripting or automation experience using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Familiarity with cloud cost management tools and techniques.
- Understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance considerations.
- Experience in hybrid cloud or multi-cloud environments.
- Exposure to OCI infrastructure and services.
Requirements
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. 2 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
