Responsibilities
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Ascension Team as SVP, Regional CFO. This role will support the Florida, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Illinois and Maryland markets.
Role Summary:
The Senior Vice President, Regional CFO provides executive-level management of financial resources, strategic planning, and development of the Finance organization for their respective markets. The Regional CFO is responsible for stewardship and safeguarding the organization’s assets which includes complying with defined elements of the financial integrity program. In alignment with Ascension’s strategic plan, the Regional CFO drives collective responsibility for business operations and sound financial management. The Regional CFO is also responsible for formulating and overseeing the organization's financial planning, policies, and practices in collaboration with their market leadership teams.
Role Responsibilities:
- Participates in the development and execution of the organization's vision, policies, and short/long-term objectives for their respective region
- Supports financial, operational, and strategic initiatives to ensure goals as directed by the EVP and CFO and the Regional Operating Officer are met
- In alignment with the Ascension strategic plan, the Regional CFO oversees their ministry’s execution of business strategies that improve overall performance metrics, specifically focused on financial performance, quality, and consumer experience
- Leads effective monthly business operating reviews (BORs) with their markets in partnership with the Regional Operating Officer (ROO) to monitor successful achievement of the market’s strategic and financial goals
- Ensures accountability when ministry’s financial goals are not achieved, including overseeing back to budget and contingency plans
- Reviews and monitors growth initiatives and proforma development for respective markets with appropriate stakeholders (national and local)
- Manages the overall finance recruitment and retention for their respective region; including proactive talent reviews and succession planning
- Leads with impact to bring national and local key stakeholders (physicians, clinical/non-clinical leadership) together to drive results for their region.
- Partners with national and local managed care leadership to optimize rates and language for their respective regions
- Collaborates with revenue cycle leadership and local ministries to ensure KPIs are met or exceeded
- Leads overall productivity and labor management in partnership with local ministries and management engineers to ensure optimization of resources within regions
- Collaborates with case management leadership and local ministries to ensure length of stay goals are met or exceeded
- Responsible for ensuring alignment with national business partners across strategy, labor, case management, etc. with their market leadership teams
- Responsible for financial forecasts/budgets and performance for their region to ensure we meet or exceed our annual fiscal targets
- Fosters a culture of appreciation, belongingness, inclusivity, diversity, and equity to drive the associate experience.

Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's degree with 10 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 5 of
those years being in leadership/management.
Additional Preferences
Bachelor's degree with 10-15 years of applicable cumulative job specirfic experience, with 8-10 of those years being in leadership/management.
