Responsibilities
Cybersecurity- gain hands-on experience across various aspects of cybersecurity operations: You will actively participate in key cybersecurity initiatives, including: event intake, DevSecOps, penetration testing, vulnerability management, identity and access management operations, and more. This internship offers a comprehensive exposure to the diverse and dynamic field of healthcare cybersecurity.
Potential Responsibilities Could include:
- Assist in the collection, triage, and analysis of cybersecurity events from multiple sources to identify potential threats, risks, and incidents. Work with the team to prioritize and escalate incidents as necessary.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate security practices into the software development lifecycle. Participate in continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to enhance security measures.
- Support in conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing exercises to identify and exploit weaknesses within systems, networks, and applications. Help to document and report findings and recommend mitigations.
- Assist in scanning systems, applications, and networks for vulnerabilities. Help with the remediation process by tracking, analyzing, and reporting vulnerabilities and their risk levels.
- Work with the IAM team to assist in user provisioning, access reviews, and troubleshooting security incidents related to identity and authentication. Gain experience with role-based access controls (RBAC) and privilege management.
- Create and maintain documentation on cybersecurity activities, incidents, and processes.
- Work closely with various cybersecurity sub-teams (e.g., incident response, compliance, risk management) to foster an integrated approach to security within the organization.
Preferred:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts, operating systems, and security protocols.
- Familiarity with security tools and frameworks (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, vulnerability scanners).
- Knowledge of programming/scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell is a plus.
- Hands-on experience or coursework in penetration testing, vulnerability management, or DevSecOps.
- Knowledge of identity and access management (IAM) systems and tools.
- Familiarity with cloud security and common cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Understanding of compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, GDPR, HIPAA).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- High school diploma equivalency OR Enrolled in accredited program specific to discipline required.
