Responsibilities

Help shape the way we connect, inform and inspire our associates across Ascension. We’re looking for a skilled storyteller who can turn complex information into clear, engaging communications. This role blends strategic thinking with hands-on implementation to strengthen our culture and support our Mission.

What you’ll do

  • Create and deliver communications that drive engagement and understanding.
  • Partner with leaders to share priorities, changes and success stories across a mix of channels.
  • Bring a creative, “journalist” mindset to celebrate our people and their work.
  • Keep content aligned with Ascension’s goals—and make it meaningful.
  • Stay flexible and responsive in a fast-moving environment.

What we’re looking for

  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Experience in internal communications, employee engagement or change management.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across teams in a matrixed organization.
  • Strategic consultant who is savvy at building strong relationships with senior leaders.
  • Proactive problem-solver with a passion for mission-driven work and an eye for detail.
  • Bonus: healthcare or service industry background.

Requirements

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 2 years of cumulative experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.

Additional Preferences

  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or related field. 5+ years in an internal communications or related role, with leadership experience. Experience with intranet platforms or similar tools a plus.
