Partner with the best

The Information Protection Administrator will be part of a dynamic, growing team, planning, preparing, hunting for, and remediating and protecting unsecure data in the Baker Hughes environment. They are responsible for implementing and managing data protection and governance using Microsoft Purview. This role involves working with various stakeholders to understand data security requirements, defining data classification and protection policies, and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards.

As an Information Protection Administrator will be responsible for:

  • Implementing and configuring Microsoft Purview to discover, classify, and map data across the organization's environment.
  • Defining and maintaining data classification and labeling policies based on business and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborating with business units to understand data protection needs and ensure the appropriate protection and handling of sensitive data.
  • Managing data access controls and rights management to prevent unauthorized access and data leakage.
  • Monitoring and reporting on data protection activities, including data usage, access patterns, and potential security incidents.
  • Developing and implementing data retention and disposition policies to ensure compliance with retention requirements and relevant regulations.
  • Working with legal and compliance teams to respond to data protection inquiries, audits, and incidents.
  • Staying updated on the latest data protection regulations and best practices to ensure the organization's data protection policies remain current and effective.
  • Providing training and support to end users on data protection best practices, tools, and policies.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
  • Have a minimum 6 years of professional experience in STEM related degree, Political Science/Government/International Affairs.
  • Have a strong understanding of data protection principles, including data classification, encryption, access control, and data retention.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Purview or similar data governance and protection tools.
  • Have a knowledge of data protection regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and industry-specific compliance requirements.
  • Have an experience in working with stakeholders across different business units to understand and address their data protection needs.
  • Have an ability to analyze and interpret data protection metrics and reports to identify trends and potential issues.
  • Have a relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Information Protection Administrator or similar credentials would be beneficial.
  • Have a CISSP, CISM or related SANs certifications preferred
