OperationsJob Summary:
The Operations Superintendent is a pivotal role that holds accountability for achieving production goals within the Ammonia, Urea Ammonium Nitrate (“UAN”) and Nitric Acid (“Acid”) plants. Focusing on safety, efficiency, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness, this position plays a vital role in leading the Operations team to operate the production units safely, effectively, and efficiently. The Superintendent oversees the operating units, with direct supervision of the Operations Supervisors, ensuring safe, high-quality production, storage, and shipment.Job Description:

What You'll Do - Example Activities:
- Champion safety and environmental stewardship as core values of leadership.
- Foster cross-functional relationships to meet departmental goals.
- Manage the budget with financial responsibility.
- Cultivate positive employee relations, fostering a supportive environment.
- Implement robust safety, cost control, reporting, and workforce development programs.
- Vigilantly monitor plant operations, taking corrective actions as necessary.
- Direct adjustments in plant processes, equipment, procedures, and staffing.
- Coordinate the performance of the Ammonia, UAN, and Nitric Acid plants, ensuring synchronization.
- Develop operational plans aligned with production goals.
- Empower Production Department Supervisors for professional growth.
- Cultivate open communication and strong relationships with plant employees.
- Demonstrate swift, thoughtful decision-making, guided by sound judgment.
- Take initiative, aligning actions with the plans of the Production Manager.
- Operate autonomously within a collaborative framework.
- Supervise the Shift Supervisors, Ammonia Day Supervisor, UAN Day Supervisor, Training Supervisor, and Offsites Day Supervisor.
- Design and execute operational plans, including maintenance and skill enhancement.
Required Skills:
• Hold a B.S. in Engineering and possess more than 10 years of supervisory experience in chemical manufacturing or equivalent.
• Proficient in process safety management, emphasizing safety culture and leadership.
• Competency in Ammonia, UAN, and Nitric Acid production.
• Demonstrate effective leadership abilities.
• Exposure to project management and implementation.
• Possess strong communication skills, both written and spoken, for effective interaction.
• Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and standards.
• Successfully complete pre-employment physical and drug screening.
• Attain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential card (TWIC).
• Willingness to consider relocation to other company sites.
