The Cybersecurity Analyst I monitors and analyzes security alerts, investigates potential threats, and supports the organization’s incident response efforts. This role assists with intrusion detection, vulnerability analysis, forensic preservation, and security testing to help protect networks and systems. The analyst also contributes to patch management reporting, security awareness training content, and overall improvement of the organization’s security posture.

Monitor security systems and events to detect, assess, analyze, and investigate threats. Support improvements to existing security solutions, install security measures, communicate technical requirements, and help raise overall security awareness across the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field, and at least 2 years of cybersecurity experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and IDS/IPS concepts.
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems and application behavior.
- Working understanding of LANs, web-based applications, client/server environments, and applicable standards.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, interpersonal communication, critical thinking, and time-management abilities.
- Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate gaming authority licensing.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Monitor and analyze security events to determine whether they constitute legitimate security incidents.
- Conduct network monitoring and intrusion detection using tools such as IDS/IPS, firewalls, SIEM, NAC, and vulnerability management platforms.
- Assist with security incident investigations following forensic guidelines to preserve evidence.
- Perform correlation analysis across internal and external data sources to identify incidents and support incident response efforts.
- Assist with security testing, verification, and risk analysis of networks and systems.
- Escalate confirmed security incidents to appropriate IT teams and incident response personnel.
- Analyze and report patching status for operating systems and applications, coordinating remediation with responsible teams.
- Support development of cybersecurity awareness training and communications.
- Inform and advise others on incidents and preventative measures.
- Participate in knowledge sharing to support efficient solution development.
