This position handles the daily operations of plumbing systems in a variety of settings, including both climate-controlled and outdoor environments. The work involves physical tasks such as lifting heavy objects, scaling ladders, and operating lifts. The employee must follow all safety procedures; wear required personal protective equipment and may be called in for emergency repairs outside of normal work hours.

The Commercial Plumber II is responsible for the installation, service, and maintenance of plumbing systems and fixtures for various properties. This role requires a high level of technical proficiency and also involves leading and guiding the work of other employees.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and seven years of commercial plumbing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must hold a valid Plumbing Journeyman License.
  • Proficient knowledge of water distribution and wastewater disposal in commercial and industrial buildings.
  • Knowledge of relevant building codes, regulations, and maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have or be able to receive a Hepatitis B shot.

  • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and components, including water heaters, grease interceptors, piping, and controls.
  • Review building plans and specifications to determine the layout for plumbing materials.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on plumbing equipment such as water softeners, tempering valves, and pump stations.
  • Test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks and ensure all installations meet environmental protection requirements.
  • Operate drain cleaning equipment, such as sink and sewer machines.
  • Maintain parts inventory and supplies.
  • Respond to emergency equipment callouts.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other commercial plumbers and apprentices.
