The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines. Working in Carver's on 19, this position plays a vital role in delivering a premium dining experience by ensuring every dish meets the restaurant's high standards. The Cook maintains a clean and organized workstation, follows all food safety and sanitation procedures, and works collaboratively with the culinary team in a fast-paced kitchen.

The Cook at Carver's on 19 prepares and presents exceptional menu items while delivering the quality, consistency, and attention to detail expected in an upscale dining environment. This position is responsible for executing recipes, maintaining food safety standards, and contributing to an outstanding guest dining experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of cooking experience in a restaurant, hotel, or high-volume kitchen preferred.
  • Experience preparing steaks, seafood, and upscale American cuisine is preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling practices.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and consistency.
  • Ability to obtain a Food Handler's Card.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be available to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Comfortable working in kitchen environments with heat, noise, and occasional exposure to secondhand smoke in casino areas.

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Ensure proper portioning, plating, and presentation for all dishes served.
  • Prepare meats, seafood, vegetables, sauces, and other ingredients for daily service.
  • Monitor food quality, freshness, and cooking temperatures throughout each shift.
  • Maintain proper food storage, labeling, rotation, and handling procedures in accordance with health regulations.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, equipment, and food preparation areas.
  • Communicate effectively with chefs and fellow team members to ensure timely service.
  • Assist with receiving, stocking, and organizing kitchen inventory as needed.
  • Follow all company policies, food safety standards, and sanitation procedures.
