ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Buyer position is responsible for the procurement of materials, equipment, and services. This position will issue requests for quotation, evaluate supplier bids, negotiate final price, review terms & conditions and issue purchase orders to suppliers for assigned commodities with the overall objective of delivering all goods and services at or below budget, meeting quality and schedule requirements. Including an analysis of current market price levels and delivery trends for assigned commodities. This position will also evaluate the overall performance of existing suppliers and develop new qualified, competitive suppliers.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
•Purchase goods, components, or services in support of the business operation
•Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to EADS Cooling
•Build, maintain, and manage supplier relationships
•Ensure a professional and consistent approach in all supplier relationships
•Timely review of MRP to identify production requirements and take appropriate action such as placing purchase orders and expediting when necessary
•Track supplier deliveries to ensure on time delivery of key raw materials and components
•Provide supplier communication to resolve issues with purchase orders and invoices. Includes interacting with Receiving and vendors to resolve count discrepancies and account payables to resolve pricing discrepancies
•Develop and use Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to track material efficiency and drive change in under-performing areas
•Provides forecasts to suppliers on a regular basis
•Use real-time and historical data to perform “what-if” analysis for different scenarios
•Works with cross-functional teams to develop raw material planning strategies and processes
•Support new supplier qualification activities
•Function as a liaison between suppliers and internal departments
•Participates in the continuous improvement process
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
•Minimum of 5 years of experience in Planning or Supply Chain functions
•Highly motivated with the ability to work independently
•Bachelor’s degree in business or related field is strongly preferred
•Experience in a project environment with knowledge of ASME gas compression air cooled heat exchangers is preferred
•Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certified Purchasing Professional (C.P.P), Certified Professional Purchasing Manager (C.P.P.M), or equivalent certifications in the Purchasing field are a plus
•Strong knowledge of ERP systems, and MRP-II principles
•Proficient in Microsoft suite of products
•Excellent analytical and negotiation skills
•Superior communications, interpersonal and presentation skills with influencing and persuasive abilities
•Demonstrated experience in reducing cost
•Must be able to work in an extremely fast paced environment, be organized, be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and respond quickly to problems
