Your Role:
At EMD Electronics, the Research Lab Technician you will be required to identify and understand the hazards of 3MS, 4MS, TiCl4/POCl3 assay, and the use of associated chemical products. You will understand the basic operation of all equipment associated with the above analysis. You will also be required to act as a First Responder Awareness Level. You will identify abnormal conditions and use appropriate notification and escalation procedures and perform preventive maintenance when appropriate.
- Sets up laboratory equipment and instrumentation required for QC tests. Tests and analyzes products, materials and substances to determine purity, chemical content, and other characteristics.
- Tests and analyzes gasses and chemicals produced and trans filled.
- Conducts routine analysis using instrumentation such as GC, KFT, Particle counter, and IC.
- Prepares chemical solutions for use in processing materials, following standardized methods.
- Records test data and observations as a permanent record (i.e., in laboratory notebooks or data storage systems such as LabWare, and SharePoint).
- Makes calculations according to detailed standard operating procedures/instructions.
- Compiles and organizes raw and refined data for clear communication and interpretation.
- Maintains appropriate laboratory supply levels. May be responsible for ordering laboratory supplies and materials from outside vendors.
- Maintains safe working conditions and practices in compliance with established safety procedures. Includes mandatory participation in Basic Safety Process.
- Ability to work flexible hours occasionally
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a science field (e.g., Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, etc. )
Preferred Qualifications:
- +1 year of industry experience.
- Experience working in a chemical analysis laboratory preferred.
- Possess strong mathematical skills, excellent written and verbal skills.
- Work independently and in a team.
- Experience in chemical analyses and processes.
- Strong computer skills required (scientific instrument software, Word, Excel, Outlook, power point)
- Takes initiative and be self-motivated.
- Possess good organization skills and great attention to detail.
Pay Range for this position - $28hr - $44/hr
The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors.
