Description

  • Coordinate, synchronize, and manage the crisis care and stabilization of clients on the crisis unit.
  • Work in partnership with the Crisis Services Coordinator to ensure continuity across shifts and units including, ensuring protocols/policies/procedures are being implemented, trained, and followed up on with consistency.
  • Must meet agency standards of service hours, productivity, and fiscal responsibility.
  • Responds to emergency crisis calls from or with regard to clients, provides crisis intervention, counseling, or referral to appropriate agency based on client needs.
  • Ensure successful and timely implementation of special projects, new services, etc. as required.
  • Provide daily oversight to all assigned team members including coordination, planning and delegation of work to assist individuals/families. Team members may include a combination of psych tech, peer recovery support specialist, and nursing staff.
  • Review timecards for accuracy, adjusting time entries as needed and final approving all timekeeping records for assigned team. Will work in conjunction with Crisis Services Coordinator to approve time off requests.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members to resolve employee relations issues working with management team and Human Resources.
  • Ensure implementation of all crisis intervention plans.
  • Screening and crisis intervention as directed.
  • Assessment of individuals to determine clients eligibility for admission to the crisis unit and continued assessments to obtain information relevant to presenting problem, need for emergent services, and referral to appropriate clinical services.
  • Leads participation in diagnostic and evaluative staff meetings to discuss the diagnosis, etiology, treatment and disposition of patients.
  • Provides diagnostic impression and crisis intervention planning.
  • Directs, facilitates, and documents treatment team meetings/clinical staffing/ and shift staff meetings.
  • Completes collaborative documentation of services in a thorough, accurate and timely manner.
  • Ensures crisis teams clinical documentation is completed in a thorough, accurate and a timely manner.
  • Consults with other agencies and professionals regarding individuals, including court systems, health clinics, physicians, clergy, other mental health professionals, etc. with appropriate releases of information.
  • Participate in and document monthly case consultation/individual supervision to team members, appropriately identifying ethical concerns and staffing in accordance with protocol.
  • Must maintain licensure and/or board approved supervision requirements.
  • Ensure assigned crisis team maintain respective credentials/certifications.
  • Ensure attendance and participation in required training and any follow-up needs addressed for crisis team.
  • Ensure regular and consistent supervision with Clinical Director of Crisis Services including weekly summary of staff/client issues, duty to warn/report, and critical incidents.
  • Regular attendance is an essential job requirement.
  • Shall be willing and able to perform all job-related travel normally associated with this position (this may include transportation of individuals).
  • Participates in crisis team manager staff meetings.

Qualifications

Master's degree in a behavioral health field and actively and regularly receiving board approved supervision, and extended supervision by a fully licensed clinician if boards supervision requirement is met but the individual is not yet licensed, to become licensed by one of the licensing boards listed in (A) through (F) below.
