As a Banquet Captain, you will be instrumental in the successful execution of all banquet functions within our establishment. You will lead and guide the banquet staff, ensuring that every event space is perfectly prepared, food and beverage are served flawlessly, and all company standards and client requests are met. This role demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a team in a fast-paced environment to deliver memorable experiences.

Plan, direct, and coordinate banquet events, ensuring meticulous preparation, seamless food and beverage service, and a high level of guest satisfaction.
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to obtain a food handler’s card.
- Ability to pass all alcohol awareness training.
- Ability to obtain a state-issued alcoholic beverage license.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Proven ability to lead and guide other employees.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in compiling and managing event-related financial documentation.
- Requires standing for long periods, frequent bending and kneeling. Must be able to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, in various settings (climate-controlled office, casino floors with exposure to second-hand smoke and crowd noise).
- Ensure the venue is prepared according to company standards before guest arrival. Oversee the correct presentation and service of all food and beverage items.
- Lead and guide banquet staff, assigning duties and providing support to ensure efficient service.
- Adhere to all company standards, paying close attention to special requests and instructions for each event.
- Alert appropriate employees to any changes in service schedules, challenges, or guest feedback during an event.
- Compile event checks, ensure accurate charging for items and persons, and verify checks are posted to the correct master account. Present checks to clients for signature and ensure all relevant paperwork is completed and distributed correctly.
- Ensure banquet staff returns equipment to storage areas and that the workspace and venue are left clean and tidy after each event.
- Promote a fun, friendly, quick, comfortable, clean, and safe environment ("The Big Six") for guests.
