We are seeking a proactive and energetic Housekeeping Porter to ensure the seamless operation of our guest room readiness and service delivery. You will be the vital link between the guest and the housekeeping team, managing the logistics of linens, amenities, and guest items (like rollaway beds or cribs). Your dedication to accuracy and attention to detail will ensure Room Attendants are always stocked and ready, while your initiative will keep our hallways and public areas free of dirt, smudges, and fingerprints. Be the Hospitality Hero behind the scenes! As our Housekeeping Porter, you are the critical support system for our entire housekeeping operation, ensuring every guest request is met and every room is perfectly prepped. This role is highly active, requiring physical stamina and a commitment to detail as you manage linens, deliver amenities, troubleshoot issues, and keep our public spaces sparkling clean. Experience & Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred. This is an entry-level position and requires little to no previous work experience.
Physical Stamina: Must be able to perform work that involves substantial standing, walking, pushing, and pulling bulky carts for long periods. Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
Knowledge: Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage and usage, and basic understanding of biohazards and required personal protective equipment (PPE) is a strong asset.
Competencies: Must demonstrate strong Accountability, Accuracy and Attention to Detail, Initiative, and Teamwork.
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with guests (Customer Interaction) and maintain a professional status through interdepartmental relationships.
Work Schedule: Must be available to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Guest Service & Delivery: Promptly fulfill and deliver service requests, including rollaway beds, cribs, portable refrigerators, chairs, and other amenities to guest rooms.
Room Preparation Support: Prepare vacant rooms for cleaning by collecting soiled linens and refreshing basic bathroom/bedroom items; accurately report hotel vacancy status.
Linen Management: Efficiently deliver and collect laundry to and from the warehouse; stock linens for room attendants and ensure all carts are replenished throughout the day.
Public Area Maintenance: Conduct routine cleaning of public areas, including emptying trash, thoroughly dusting all applicable areas, and keeping hallway walls and doors free of dirt and fingerprints.
Specialized Cleaning: Clean and maintain all vending machine areas and linen closets daily; spot clean walls and wall coverings as needed.
Safety & Reporting: Report hotel damages and maintenance problems to the supervisor; complete and turn in daily assignment sheets and keys.
Equipment Care: Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and supplies; ensure all equipment used (including carts) is cleaned and properly stored at the end of the shift.
