Launch your purchasing career with us! We are seeking a Jr. Buyer to execute essential procurement tasks, including processing POs, tracking inventory, and coordinating payments. Unlike typical junior roles, you will also gain exposure to strategic sourcing by identifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, and assisting with cost-reduction initiatives. This is a fast-paced role for a detail-oriented individual capable of working independently to resolve supplier issues and ensure quality compliance.

Procure materials, products, services, and/or equipment for an assigned department(s). Oversee ordering, receipt, and review of commodities from second and third-tier suppliers. Ensure compliance with company policy and any applicable laws and regulations.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or other related field and three (3) to seven (7) years of purchasing experience or an equivalent combination of education and purchasing experience.
Must have experience with and understanding business concepts, including knowledge of materials, production processes, quality control, resource allocation, coordination of resources, and other techniques for maximizing effectiveness and efficiencies.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing and inventory specific programs.
Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop, evaluate, and implement appropriate solutions.
Ability to demonstrate analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to demonstrate decision making skills.
Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and tribal laws as well as legal codes and regulations.
Identifies and qualifies suppliers and negotiates terms and contracts.
Prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of materials, products, services, and/or equipment.
Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for discrepancies. Resolves defects and delivery problems with suppliers to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner.
Maintains and tracks records of purchased items, costs, deliveries, and inventories.
Coordinates payment processing for all commodities purchased from suppliers.
Negotiates rebates with suppliers to ensure the timely processing of claims.
Develops and implements strategies for cost reduction, supplier consolidation, quality improvements, and process efficiencies.
Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
Participates in the development of statements of work for equipment, products, and materials.
Manage multiple without having direct supervisory/ management responsibilities.
Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled office setting.
Some travel may be required.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
