Summary: Directs and coordinates activities of projects department by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Manages and directs the work of Project Managers and provides managerial oversight of multiple projects 10% of the time.
  • Monitors project scopes, costs, schedules, staffing, communications, outside vendors, and contractual deliverables 10% of the time.
  • Accountable for developing and coordinating carefully designed and approved action plans to successfully complete projects 10% of the time.
  • Accountable for planning and allocating resources, preparing budgets, monitoring progress, and keeping executive staff informed throughout the project lifecycle 10% of the time.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all aspects of the Operations activities, including Engineering, Sales and the Customer; assure all parties maintain close communication and coordination regarding project status and milestones; maintain project schedules and report status in weekly Program Reviews 10% of the time.
  • Work with Purchasing to assure that all long lead items are identified and ordered in a timely manner in support of the project schedules 5% of the time.
  • Document and communicate project status, obstacles and resolutions to management 10% of the time.
  • Prepare project schedules and expedite workflow within the Projects department 10% of the time.
  • Continuous daily engagement with customers throughout all levels of the organization 15% of the time.
  • Engagement with all levels of management 10% of the time.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ability to supervise up to 1 – 5 non-exempt / exempt employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Kelvion’s policies, procedures and applicable laws. Responsibilities will include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Directing employees’ work; setting and adjusting rates of pay and hours of work of employees; planning and controlling the budget for department; providing for the safety of the employees; planning the work; determining the techniques to be used; apportioning the work among the workers.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc. Experience with Microsoft Project

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
BS in Engineering, Business or equivalent experience
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a project management role
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a serial manufacturing environment
Advanced understanding of manufacturing supply chains is preferred
