Description
SCOPE and PURPOSE:
This job description applies to all activities and guidelines for operations performed by the
Saw Operator. This job description shall be reviewed on a regular basis.
JOB SUMMARY:
Safely set up and operate saws.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work in a safe manner and escalate safety concerns to Saw Area Lead
Responsible for verification of materials and saw operations on production basis.
Responsible for material traceability by recording of heat codes and stocking of raw materials.
Responsible for documentation and identification generated or related to production of the job.
Responsible for quality of sawed parts
Responsible for accurate transactions related to the job
Responsible for cutting material accurately to quantity specified by the work order
Changing saw blades and keeping the saw and area clean
Operate fork truck.
Set up adjustments and operation of saw equipment.
Assume other duties and responsibilities as required.
ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS:
Regardless of other duties a Saw Operator has a responsibility to follow Lufkin production, safety, and quality procedures.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education and Training: High School education or equivalent or as deemed sufficient by management
- Technical Requirements: Ability to use and read measuring equipment, tapes, scales and calipers.
- Must demonstrate ability to read blueprints.
- Experience: At least one year experience, or as deemed sufficient by management
