POSITION SUMMARY: The Network Administrator is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and optimization of the network infrastructure, ensuring it functions efficiently and securely. Assists with network configuration of both physical and virtual computer systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversees day-to-day operation of computer networks including hardware/software support and implements data connectivity for local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) systems.
- Assists in coordinating special projects including network related wiring plans, LAN/WAN hardware/software purchases, and system installations, backup maintenance and problem solving.
- Assists in hardware/software applications, support logs and other related information; researches and recommends network and server hardware and software.
- Assists with installing, designing, configuring, and maintaining system hardware and software; analyzes and troubleshoots the network logs and tracks the nature and resolution of problems.
- Monitors usage to ensure security of data and access privileges.
- Performs troubleshooting analysis of all data and voice communications issues, documenting all network problems and resolution for future reference.
- Maintains an accurate inventory of all network hardware/software.
- Maintains documentation for network configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and security protocols, keeping up to date with the latest network technologies, security threats, and best practices.
- Assists with management and implementation of the wireless network throughout the branch network.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in network administration
- Experience troubleshooting networks and resolving technical issues
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS & TRAINING:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field preferred
- CCNA, CCNP, CCIE considered a plus
JOB-SPECIFIC SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Detailed understanding of Cisco switches and routers, LAN and WAN topology, TCP/IP, DNS, VoIP, QoS, Netflow, TACACS, VPN and MPLS best practices
- Experience configuring and managing network devices and routing protocols
- Knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security measures
- Good technical problem solving and interpersonal skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced, team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical users
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to deliver quality through attention to detail
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally, and externally
