Job Description
$20-$25/hr6a-4:40p M-Th and 6a-2:30p Fridays.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to identify specific welding requirements and ensure proper execution
- Set up and operate welding machines, adjusting amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse settings as specified for the job
- Inspect welding machines, cables, and all associated equipment to ensure proper functionality and safe operation
- Determine the appropriate welding technique, position, and jig needed based on weld specifications and material thickness
- Guide the electrode or welding gun along the designated weld line, maintaining proper arc length and speed to achieve the correct depth of fusion and bead, using the metal color, sound, and puddle size to assess quality
- Select and implement the most efficient welding process for moving raw materials or finished products in various situations
- Examine completed welds for bead size, cracks, or defects, and recommend or perform necessary repairs
- Clean and grind excess weld, slag, and splatter to ensure smooth finishes
- Clean, grind, or degrease parts to ensure they meet quality standards
- Safely operate manlifts and cranes to assist with material handling and positioning
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support the team and production goals
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a welder required
- Must successfully pass any applicable welding tests as required by company standards
- Familiarity with and adherence to AWS D1.1 welding standards
- Adheres to all safety protocols and ensures the safety of the team, maintaining a clean and hazard-free workspace
- Proficient in using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
- Demonstrates regular and reliable attendance, with consistent high-quality workmanship and productivity
- Highly detail-oriented, able to follow work instructions and take direction from others with precision
- Strong ability to collaborate with the team, problem-solve, and resolve welding issues
- Excellent hand-eye coordination for precise welding work
- Capable of frequent physical activity, including reaching, lifting, sitting, standing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and balancing
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Performs other related duties as assigned to support team and company objectives
