Summary
Responsible for overseeing machining operations, ensuring efficient production, high-quality output, and adherence to safety and compliance standards. This role involves managing personnel, optimizing manufacturing processes, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence.
Primary Duties
Oversee daily machining operations, ensuring production goals are met.
Develop and implement production schedules to maximize efficiency and reduce downtime.
Monitor and analyze production metrics, making data-driven decisions to improve performance.
Identify opportunities to improve machining processes, reducing waste and increasing productivity.
Ensure all machining operations adhere to quality standards (e.g., AS9100,).
Collaborate with Quality to resolve issues and implement corrective actions.
Supervise and mentor machining staff, providing training and performance feedback.
Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of CNC machines and other machining equipment.
Enforce workplace safety protocols in compliance with OSHA and company regulations.
Qualifications and Requirements
5+ years of experience in machining/manufacturing management.
Strong knowledge of CNC machining, tooling, and production processes.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools.
Proficient in MS Office including, Word, Excel
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
Ability to move through facility and up and down stairs
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to visually see hard copy customer/engineering specifications
Ability to hear and respond to Customer’s via telephone and in person.
