Job Description
Direct Hire Day and night shifts available.
Summary: Responsible for ensuring parts are painted properly according to the customer specifications while meeting all quality standards by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Read work orders or receive instructions from supervisor regarding painting.
Prepare parts for coating
Follow all principles and practices of powder coating
Operate all coating equipment including guns, hoppers, and booth collection systems.
Clean grease, rust, and dirt from product; wash surfaces prior to coating; apply masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated.
Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects
Determine paint flow, viscosity and coating quality by performing visual inspections or
by using mill gage.
Bake parts at appropriate temperatures within time limitations.
Ensure that all components are produced/coated efficiently, and are consistent with
company established goals for quality and customer order on-time performance.
Ensure quality standards and processes are used throughout facility.
Ensure safety guidelines are being met to assure a safe work environment.
Load and unload parts or product onto fixtures.
Good knowledge of the mechanics and repair of painting equipment.
Proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
Maintains production record of parts and jobs fabricated as required by the Department Manager.
Set up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.
Must pass Pulmonary Function Test (PFT).
Must be able to wear respirator.
Regular attendance, ability to arrive at work punctually, ability to work on–site, ability to work overtime.
Ability to work cooperatively with others, ability to deal respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers, and executive management.
Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to interchange with others in the department.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. One-year related experience is required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos in English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

The employee is subject to extreme weather conditions of temperatures above 100 degrees Fahrenheit and/or below 32 degrees Fahrenheit for periods of more than one hour. The employee should also consider the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind, precipitation, and humidity.
