Job Description
A Dielectric Welding Machine Operator (RF Welder) sets up and operates high-frequency equipment to fuse thermoplastic sheets, creating airtight/watertight seals for products like medical devices or vinyl items. They adjust machine dials (time, pressure, power) to melt plastic internally, monitor production quality, and remove finished parts. Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Setup: Position and secure workpiece materials between electrodes, setting up molds or dies according to specifications.
- Process Regulation: Turn dials and valves to regulate pressure, frequency, power, and cycle times for optimal dielectric heating and fusion.
- Operation & Monitoring: Operate RF welding presses, observe defects and ensuring smooth production runs.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished parts for correct welds, dimensions, and structural integrity, trimming excess material.
- Maintenance: Clean, oil, and maintain equipment, ensuring machine parts are in good condition.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints/work orders.
- Understanding of plastic welding techniques, particularly high-frequency/dielectric principles.
- High attention to detail and precision measuring skills.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and work in potentially noisy environments.
- Regularly standing for long periods.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Potential exposure to industrial noise.
