Debur Technician - Weekend Shift
Job Description
A CNC Deburr Technician removes sharp edges, burrs, and surface imperfections from machined metal or plastic parts to meet precise quality standards. They use specialized machinery and hand tools—such as debur knives, files, and grinders—to finish parts, ensure compliance with blueprints, and prepare them for assembly or shipping. Key Responsibilities
- Part Finishing: Use manual, pneumatic, or hand tools (files, grinders, sanders) to smooth, blend, and polish parts.
- Inspection: Inspect finished parts for surface defects, proper edge breaks, and conformance to technical drawings/blueprints.
- Machine Operation: Operate deburring equipment, including mass finishing barrels or tumblers.
- Quality Control: Work with inspectors to ensure parts meet customer and internal quality standards (e.g., AS9100).
- Documentation: Maintain production records and document completed tasks, including "travelers" or quality checklists.
- Maintenance: Maintain a clean work area and perform preventative maintenance on tools.
- Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically with deburring or finishing.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret blue prints and technical specifications.
- Tools: Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers) and hand tools.
- Physical Dexterity: High level of manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in aerospace or defense industries.
- Familiarity with working under microscopes for fine deburring.
- Training or certification in manufacturing processes.
- Often involves standing for long periods.
- Requires compliance with safety protocols (use of safety glasses, hearing protection).
