Python Beamline Operator Helper
Job Description
A Python Beamline Operator (often operating the Python X structural steel fabrication system) is responsible for running, programming, and maintaining automated robotic plasma cutting machines. They process raw structural steel into precise finished components by interpreting blueprints, managing heavy material handling, and performing routine equipment diagnostics Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: Set up, calibrate, and operate the automated Python X robotic plasma cutting machine to cut, cope, and drill structural steel beams.
- Blueprint & Drawing Interpretation: Read and analyze complex fabrication drawings, blueprints, and CAD files to ensure precise cuts and tolerances.
- Material Handling: Safely load, unload, and maneuver steel beams and materials using overhead cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor machine output, check dimensions with measuring tools (e.g., tape measures and calipers), and ensure processed parts meet project specifications.
- Key Responsibilities

- Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Previous experience operating CNC machinery, automated plasma cutters, or similar fabrication equipment.
- Technical Skills: Strong mathematical aptitude, proficiency in reading blueprints, and the ability to comfortably use measuring tools.
- Physical & Equipment Certifications: Valid certification to operate forklifts and overhead cranes is highly preferred.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and work in typical fast-paced manufacturing/shop environments
