Material Handler
Job Description
Material handler safely moves, tracks, and organizes raw materials and finished products within a warehouse or manufacturing facility. Core duties include operating equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks, loading and unloading shipments, and maintaining accurate inventory logs. Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload delivery trucks, containers, and shipping docks.
- Move raw materials to production lines and transport finished goods to storage.
- Operate material handling equipment safely (forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks).
- Inspect incoming items for damage, defects, or count discrepancies.
- Pick, pack, and label products for outbound customer orders.
- · Update inventory tracking software and complete physical cycle counts.
- · Keep aisles, loading docks, and work areas clean and hazard-free.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift heavy items (often 50+ lbs) for long shifts.
- Forklift certification or willingness to complete on-site training.
- Basic math and computer skills for inventory recordkeeping.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to workplace safety rules (OSHA)
