Job Description
Air Cooler Hydro Helper works in industrial manufacturing settings (such as air cooler and heat exchanger fabrication plants) to support the hydrostatic (hydro) testing department. They assist with pressure-testing industrial coils and units to ensure structural integrity and check for leaks before final deliveryCore Job Duties
- Assist with Hydro Testing: Help set up and execute hydrostatic pressure tests on industrial air cooler units, coils, and headers.
- Equipment Hookup: Connect and secure water hoses, pressure gauges, valves, and test fittings safely.
- Monitor and Inspect: Watch equipment and pressure levels closely during testing; inspect welds, tubes, and components for water leaks or defects.
- Material Handling: Move parts, tools, and finished assemblies around the shop floor using manual or mechanical lifting equipment.
- Tool Operation: Safely use hand tools and portable power tools to prep units or tighten fittings.
- Safety & Cleanup: Maintain a clean, dry, and organized work space while adhering strictly to plant safety rules and pressure-testing protocols.
- Physical Strength: Ability to stand for long shifts, bend, and lift heavy materials (frequently up to 50 lbs).
- Basic Skills: Comfort with basic hand tools and mechanical equipment.
- Safety Consciousness: Willingness to follow strict plant safety standards regarding high-pressure testing.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent (typically required).
