Newton Design, a quality supplier of simulation and training equipment, serves the aviation industry, law enforcement agencies and military by designing, manufacturing and delivering simulated aircraft interiors and exteriors for the purpose of training air crew and law enforcement. In 1988 founder, Jesse Newton, began building training equipment in his garage, as a one-man operation. In 1996, Newton Desing was established with the commitment to quality simulation and training equipment at competitive prices. We are looking for a Mechanic/Fabricator to do mechanical assembly and fabrication.

Responsibilities

· Verify conformance of workpieces to specifications, using squares, rulers, measuring tapes and calipers.

· Position, align, fit, and attach parts to form complete assemblies or subassemblies, following shop drawings using rivets, blind rivets, bolts, screws and adhesives.

· Interpret drawings to determine material requirements and assembly operation.

· Install electric motors and hydraulic pumps.

· Perform tasks that are required to fabricate, assemble and install parts and assemblies.

Qualifications

· Ability to read schematics and drawings

· Ability to use rulers, squares, measuring tape and various other tools

· Aircraft structural repair or maintenance experience is a plus but not required.

· Hydraulic experience is a plus but not required.

· Familiar with basic production machines such as shears, brakes, band saws, drill presses, sheet metal rollers.

· Knowledgeable with electric and pneumatic drills, drill bits, taps, countersinks and basic mechanic tools
